First of all I would like to say, "Happy Good Friday". Its nearly Sunday and apparently chocolate is meant to be good for you! Yay!!
As today is a bank holiday I decided to have a lie in and as a result I only woke up at 11am. I feel all refreshed and raring to go.
Im not going to tweet my session on twitter later today, but instead write this post whilst doing my workout (In the rest period).
Today after waking up at 11am, I got straight to work by painted our utility room with 2 coats of paint on both ceiling and walls. Good workout for my right arm. :-)
As normal I will start with what I have eaten throughout today.
- Breakfast - Skipped Breakfast as I only woke up at 11am
- Dinner / Lunch - Missed dinner due to painting, but snacked on 2 Blackcurrant Nutrigrain bars and 4 Foxes Jam & Cream biscuits. (Best biscuits I have ever tasted in my opinion)
- Tea / Dinner - 2 x Cod Fillets, Baby Potatoes and sweetcorn
First up im going to change the things I do. I will do certain body parts on certain days.
So Fridays from now on will be Arms & Abs.
As recommended from one of our readers "Kendo" I will focus more on technique rather than reps, meaning I will do them slightly slower and do them properly. Instead of setting a rep target I will do the exercise until I cant do anymore.
*Remember though that a good way to start in exercise routinea is to set targets for each exercise. As you progress, you will start knowing what you can do comfortably and what will push you.
So today I will do the following exercises. Lets mix the arms and Abs together. I will do every exercise which requires a weight on 10kg and if I can do more than 20 reps slowly with good technique I will up my weight for next weeks session. Any which doesnt require a weight Iwill increase by 5 reps :-)
- Hammer Curls ↑
- Forearm Curls ↑
- Dumbbell Curls X
- Crunches ↑
- Tricep Dips ↑
- Ankle Taps ↑
- Concentration Curls X
- Jacknife situps with weight ↑
- Barbell Curls ↑
- Pressups - Wide grip X
- Standard Situps ↑
- Pressups - Diamond Hands Grip↑
Then i did a quick set of all of these again with a higher weight to finish the workout off. :-)
*I wont be doing all exercises listed for that day on that days specific session as it would be too much to do and take too long.
Also if you have a workout which you think I should try, please post it and I will do it on one of the days. I will do them on a 1st come 1st serve basis and there will be a dedicated post to your workout. If you also have an exercise for me to try, please post it and i will add into one of my routines.
Thanks for reading and if you have any thoughts, please do not hesitate to post

You seem to skip breakfast can I make a suggestion to help?
ReplyDeleteI have a shake every morning with whey protein and ground oatmeal (ready brek) mixes really easy with water or skim milk and Ready in a shake :)
What is your next workout in your routine if you are still willing to take up an offer of a workout!
Well. Next up will be chest and back. I havent thought about the exercises yet, but will have a think over the weekend.
DeleteNormally i dont have breakfast in the morning and that is because i dont get up early enough. Im always on the last minute. I will try and attempt to get up a touch earlier though and have some though. Do you think it will help?

Skipping breakfast is one of the worst things you can do
ReplyDeleteAs it stimulates your metabolism, otherwise your body is still in sleep mode not burning calories. You also need to
Fuel those muscles for you workouts. To get lean almost all body builders have carbs early in the day and taper or stop later in the day to avoid them bein stored as body far during sleep at night
